Pilot psychometric test practice
Prepare across knowledge, reasoning and self-reflection. Work through these original examples, identify the skills that need revision, then practise a full assessment or an individual section in AvioQuiz.
Psychometric practice requires an ADAPT Pass. Completed sections and results are saved in this browser on this device.
Understand the assessment
Symbiotics describes cognitive reasoning across verbal and numerical reasoning, working memory, perceptual speed and accuracy, spatial relationships and abstract reasoning. Its personality questionnaire examines personality, values, behaviour and attitudes. These are different kinds of assessment, so preparing only with calculation questions leaves gaps.

AvioQuiz is independent practice and is not affiliated with IndiGo, Symbiotics or an assessment provider. Check your selection invitation for the actual test components, rules and equipment.
What the AvioQuiz psychometric module covers
English and verbal reasoning
Practise reading a statement accurately, separating facts from assumptions, and applying the instruction on the screen. When reviewing an error, point to the exact word or condition that changed the answer.
Maths and physics
Revise units, proportions, percentages, speed–distance–time, forces and basic physical relationships. Check an answer by estimating its size. Practise without rushing first; then work within the timer shown in each section.
Cognitive reasoning and memory
Look for the rule in an unfamiliar pattern, hold short pieces of information in memory, and compare symbols or spatial relationships accurately. Change the examples between sessions so you practise reasoning rather than recognising a remembered answer.
Personality and co-ordination
Use the personality practice to understand the response format and reflect on how you usually behave. Answer honestly rather than constructing an ideal pilot profile. The module also includes control and co-ordination practice; you can open that task directly from the ball and rudder page.
Original pilot aptitude questions with worked answers
These are original AvioQuiz learning examples, not questions from an official assessment.
EXERCISE 01
Maths: rate and time
A practice scenario uses fuel at a constant 240 kg per hour for 25 minutes. How much fuel is used?
Worked answer100 kg. Twenty-five minutes is 25/60 hours, so 240 × 25/60 = 100.
The question asks for a quantity, not a rate. Keeping kg/hour and hours together prevents the common mistake of multiplying the hourly figure directly by minutes.
EXERCISE 02
Physics: pressure
A force of 600 newtons acts evenly over an area of 0.03 square metres. What pressure does it produce?
Worked answer20,000 pascals. Pressure = force ÷ area = 600 ÷ 0.03.
A smaller area produces greater pressure for the same force. Use that relationship to check the result before committing to it. The units are newtons per square metre, which are pascals.
EXERCISE 03
Reasoning: a number pattern
What is the next number in 4, 9, 16, 25, …?
Worked answer36. The sequence is 2², 3², 4², 5², so the next term is 6².
You can also examine the differences: 5, 7, 9, then 11. Check a proposed rule against every term rather than guessing from the last two numbers.
EXERCISE 04
English: read only what is stated
“All trainees who complete the briefing receive a practice slot. Riya completed the briefing.” Does Riya receive a practice slot?
Worked answerYes, under the rule in the statement.
Do not add a medical, payment or eligibility condition that the exercise did not provide. In a real application you must meet the actual requirements; in a reasoning question, use only its stated information.
How to prepare for a pilot psychometric assessment
Start with the invitation
Record the named provider, assessment components, permitted equipment and instructions in your selection notice. ADAPT, COMPASS and cut-e are different systems. Do not assume that one practice programme covers every provider or intake.
Take a baseline by section
Read each AvioQuiz section’s instructions before its timer starts. Note both accuracy and where you ran out of time. Separate a knowledge gap from a reading error or an unfamiliar response format.
Revise the reason for the mistake
Keep an error log with the topic, your mistake and the corrected method. Practise a new problem that uses the same idea. If you only repeat the question you missed, you may learn its answer without learning the method.
Return to a complete session
After focused work, take a full practice assessment to check your concentration across sections. Review and, if useful, print the report. Results remain in the browser and device where you practised, so keep your own notes when moving devices.
Common questions
What is a pilot psychometric test?
Pilot selection can include aptitude, knowledge and behavioural assessments. The exact battery depends on the provider and programme. AvioQuiz offers independent practice in English, maths, physics, cognitive reasoning, personality response format and control and co-ordination.
Are these official ADAPT questions?
No. The public examples and AvioQuiz exercises are original practice material. Use your assessment provider’s instructions for the actual test format, timing and permitted equipment.
How should I answer a pilot personality questionnaire?
Read the statement carefully and respond according to your usual behaviour. Use familiarisation to understand the format and reflect on real examples of teamwork, feedback and pressure. There is no AvioQuiz answer key for manufacturing a preferred personality profile.
Are AvioQuiz scores official psychometric results?
No. They are practice feedback, not an airline pass mark, a clinical assessment or a provider’s normed result. Use them to track your own learning and identify what to practise next.
